Programs
At present the District provides learning and recreational opportunities for many of it residents.
The Early Childhood – Readiness program is located in a building adjacent to the J.P. Vincent Elementary School and operates during the regular school year with limited hours during the summer months. The goal is to helping the Districts young, ages three to four, to prepare for elementary school by exploring skills that are needed.
In conjuction with the Early Childhood Program, the Family Resource Center, located in the same building adjacent to J.P. Vincent School, provides a program for chirldren from six months to three years of age. Socialization is the primary goal at the FRC.
The summer program contains both enrichment and improvement components.
Bloomfield High School in collaboration with the West Hartford Schools offers a six week summer school program at Conard High in West Hartford. The program is designed to give students a chance to make up work that was missed during the school year and to take courses that will benefit them during the upcoming school year.
A one week Math Academy is offered at Bloomfield high school for students who wish to improve skills in algebra/pre-algebra.
At the elementary level, a reading, writing and arithmetic program provides an opportunity for elementary school students to wok on the essentials.
The Adult Education program provides post high school education for those seeking to expand their skills in specific areas. The offerings change as needs arise.
