| Mission Statement It is the mission of the Facilities Department to enhance the educational process of the Bloomfield Schools by providing a clean, safe and healthy environment in which to learn, teach and work.

| As part of its efforts in providing a safe and healthy environment the Bloomfield Public Schools has implemented the EPA's Tools For Schools indoor air quality program. Teams for each of the district buildings have been assembled to evaluate the current conditions of the buildings and to investigate any complaints or concerns regarding indoor air quality issues. In addtion all of the schools were tested for Radon during the 2006-2007 school year. The final test report indicates that the Radon level in all of the buildings in the Bloomfield Public School District are well below the limits established by the EPA. | | The facilities department maintains 575,448 square feet of building space. This is the equivalence of over 287 homes with 2000 square feet. The department is staffed with 24 custodians, 5 maintenance mechanics, and 1 copy room operator. |
