Metacomet Elementary School is Bloomfield’s new, state of the art facility that houses our third and fourth grade students. This new structure has many features that enhance and foster the daily learning that takes place.
Every classroom has brand new smart boards, with state of the art technology. In addition, each classroom is equipped with ceiling speakers. These speakers are hooked up to a microphone that teachers can wear around their necks to help with auditory learners. All classrooms also contain four student and one teacher computer so that technology can be incorporated throughout the day. In addition to classroom computers, we have a beautiful new computer lab that students utilize every week. The building also hosts a new science classroom. This facility allows students to experience being in an area designated solely for science!
At Metacomet our first priority is our students. It is the mission of our staff to foster a safe, fun, and rigorous learning environment for our students so that they may be challenged to their full potential. We understand that “it takes a village to raise a child” and we strongly believe that families and the community play a large role in our students’ education. It is for that reason that we welcome parents, neighbors, and community members into our school to help guide our students to a bright future.
