Greetings from the Superintendent of Schools
Dear Families, Students, Staff and Community Members,
We are excited and proud to welcome new and returning students to Bloomfield Public Schools for the 2016-2017 school year.
During the past several years we have made great progress towards closing the achievement gap. These accomplishments were guided by the successful implementation of the Bloomfield Public Schools’ District Accountability Plan, which provides the vision, theory of action and priorities that are based on this community’s shared beliefs. We encourage you to read our 2015-2018 District Accountability Plan and learn more about how we are committed to promoting practices and implementing procedures that create a supportive learning environment for children.
I am confident that we have what it takes to continue our momentum - a supportive community, dedicated staff, engaged families, enthusiastic students and a rigorous curriculum. Let’s continue to embrace best practices while identifying areas that need improvement.
Our motto -- Raising the Bar is Taking us Far -- speaks to our mission that a high-performing district is the result of a positive school climate, an expectation of academic rigor and a culture of meaningful family and community engagement.
As we enter a new year, I am certain that we will continue to build on our accomplishments and our vision by reinforcing high expectations for all 2,150 students. I look forward to another successful year!
