Dear Parents, Students, Staff and Community Members,
On September 2, 2014 nearly 2,100 preschool through twelfth grade students will eagerly walk through the doors of our seven district schools. We are excited and proud to welcome new and returning students to Bloomfield Public Schools. Bloomfield students will benefit from a redesigned curriculum and improved instruction aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
During the past several years, we have made great progress towards closing the achievement gap. These accomplishments were guided by the successful implementation of the Bloomfield Schools’ Accountability Plan. The District Accountability Plan provides us with the vision, theory of action and priorities that are based on this community’s shared beliefs. We encourage you to read our District Accountability Plan and learn more about how we are improving our teaching and learning strategies to have a significant impact on the future of Bloomfield’s children.
I am confident that we have what it takes to continue our forward momentum - a supportive community, dedicated staff, engaged parents, enthusiastic students and a rigorous curriculum. Let’s continue to embrace best practices while identifying areas that need improvement. Organizations that are successful are the ones that work together to achieve a common set of beliefs and goals.
In closing, I would like to introduce our new slogan, “Raising the Bar is Taking us Far.” This slogan speaks to our mission that a high-performing district is the result of a positive climate, an expectation of competitive academic achievement and a culture of meaningful parent and community engagement.
Through the upcoming school year, we will continue to build on our accomplishments, and our vision, by reinforcing high expectations for all students.
I have witnessed what the combination of commitment, passion and talent can accomplish. As we enter the 2014-2015 school year, I am confident that we will have another successful year!
