As part of its efforts in providing a safe and healthy environment the Bloomfield Public Schools utilizes a web based maintenance work request system that includes concerns with indoor air quality. Work requests for each of the district buildings are evaluated and prioritized to address life safety issues and investigate any complaints or concerns regarding indoor air quality issues.
In addtion all of the schools were tested for Radon during the 2006-2007 school year and retested in 2012 as required by the Department of Public Health. The final test reports indicate that the Radon level in all of the buildings in the Bloomfield Public School District are well below the limits established by the EPA. Anyone wishing to read the report can do so by contacting the Facilities department at 860-769-4220.
