Teacher of the Year

On May 2, Bloomfield Public Schools proudly announced the 2025 Teachers of the Year.

These outstanding educators were selected by the staff at their respective schools, recognized by their peers for the passion, dedication, and excellence they demonstrate in their classrooms and school communities each day.

Please join the district in congratulating the following educators, each named Teacher of the Year for their school:

  • Marissa Mancini – Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School

  • Melanie Gabel – Laurel Literacy Academy

  • Anne Pyatt – Metacomet Elementary School

  • Jeanne Pascon – Carmen Arace Intermediate School

  • Matthew Bessette – Carmen Arace Middle School

  • Richard Michaud – Global Experience Magnet School

  • Lori Doll – Bloomfield High School

Grace Martinez, Executive Director of Talent Management & Community Partnerships, shared: “These remarkable teachers exemplify what it means to inspire, challenge, and support students every step of the way. They uplift not only the learners in their care, but also the culture and spirit of our schools. Thank you for your impact, your leadership, and your love for the work. Bloomfield is better because of you.”

Superintendent Dr. Tracy A. Youngberg added:

These honorees will be formally recognized at the district’s annual Education Celebration on May 28, 2025.
