CHRO Youth Summit

Bloomfield Public Schools students are stepping into leadership, advocacy, and service — and on Friday, November 1st, they proved just how powerful their voices can be.

Students from Carmen Arace Middle School, Bloomfield High School, and Global Experience Magnet School attended the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) Youth Summit at the UConn School of Law, where they explored careers in law, government, social justice, public service, and community advocacy.

Guided by attorneys, judges, and civic leaders, students participated in immersive workshops focused on legal systems, civil rights, case analysis, and leadership in social justice. Scholars had the opportunity to experience a mock law school session, engage in powerful dialogue, and gain exposure to careers rooted in equity and justice.

These experiences plant seeds of confidence, purpose, and possibility — inspiring students to see themselves as changemakers in their communities.

The School to Career Office is dedicated to empowering the next generation of advocates, leaders, and innovators. Our students are learning not only to dream, but to stand up, speak out, and lead boldly. With passion, purpose, and preparation — Bloomfield students are ready to shape a brighter future.
