CHET Dream Big

Metacomet Elementary School is proud to celebrate fourth-grade student Camillia Robinson, who has been named a First Prize winner in the 2025 CHET Dream Big! Competition in the K–4 age group.

Camillia’s winning entry earned her a $5,000 contribution to her CHET 529 College Savings Plan – Direct Plan account, supporting her future educational goals and dreams.

The CHET Dream Big! Competition, sponsored by the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET), is a statewide initiative that encourages K–12 students to reflect on their aspirations and think creatively about their futures. This year, the competition will award $350,000 in CHET 529 college savings plan contributions to students across Connecticut, along with technology prizes for schools.

Students enter the competition with the help of a parent or guardian by responding to a prompt about their dreams or thoughts on the future. Submissions may take the form of a drawing, essay, or video, making it an engaging and accessible opportunity for students of all ages.

Camillia’s entry stood out among submissions from across the state, earning her recognition as one of just 24 First Prize winners in Connecticut. In addition to the scholarship award, Camillia and her family have been invited to attend a special celebration honoring Grand and First Prize winners at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford.

“Camillia’s accomplishment is a wonderful example of what happens when students are encouraged to dream big and believe in their potential,” said Superintendent, Dr. Tracy Youngberg. “We are incredibly proud of her creativity, hard work, and achievement.”

The entire Metacomet Elementary School community congratulates Camillia Robinson on this outstanding accomplishment. Her success highlights the power of imagination, determination, and the importance of planning for a bright educational future.
