The magic of the swamp is coming to Carmen Arace as the cast of Shrek Jr. gears up for opening night on Friday, March 27. There will also be a performance on Saturday, March 28, both starting at 7:00 PM. This year’s production features 42 talented students from grades 5–8, reflecting the school’s dedication to the arts and student creativity.
Rehearsals have been lively and full of energy as students balance singing, dancing, and acting. Shanna Crimi leads vocal rehearsals, Courtney Bouchard oversees choreography, and Allison Glenney directs scene work. From vibrant costumes to laugh-out-loud moments, Shrek Jr. promises an entertaining and unforgettable evening that showcases the talent and teamwork of Arace students.
Families and community members can expect big performances and even bigger personalities as everyone’s favorite ogre and his fairytale friends take the stage. From the swamps of Duloc to imaginative new worlds, audiences will be transported entirely by the creativity of Bloomfield’s young artists.
Community members are encouraged to attend and support the arts in Bloomfield schools. With months of preparation behind them, the cast is ready to make opening night—and the Saturday performance—a celebration of talent, teamwork, and fun.
