On March 12, 2026, Laurel Literacy Academy welcomed PreK–2 students and their families for a fun and interactive Numeracy Night, bringing the school community together to celebrate early math learning.
The evening was filled with hands-on, play-based activities designed to build foundational numeracy skills. Families enjoyed working together to build numbers, practice addition, compare values, and create pictures using shapes. Each activity station gave students the opportunity to showcase what they have been learning in the classroom while helping families better understand these important concepts.
In addition to the engaging activities, the event provided families with insight into the school’s math curriculum and offered practical strategies for supporting children at home. Teachers guided parents on how to incorporate numeracy into everyday routines, helping to strengthen skills in a natural and accessible way.
Students took pride in demonstrating their learning at various centers, explaining concepts and sharing their progress with their families. This meaningful interaction helped bridge the connection between school and home while building students’ confidence.
Dinner was also provided, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where families could relax, connect, and enjoy the evening together.
Laurel Literacy Academy extends its sincere thanks to all the families who attended and helped make Numeracy Night a success. Events like these play an important role in fostering a love of learning and supporting young learners as they grow.
