Families were invited to step into a world of mystery and imagination at Laurel Literacy Academy’s “Read Like a Detective” Family Literacy Night, which took place on April 23, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. This engaging event was designed to bring reading to life by turning students and their families into literary detectives for the evening.

Throughout the night, participants rotated through a variety of interactive stations, each filled with clues inspired by famous book characters and stories. From solving puzzles to uncovering hidden details in texts, families worked together to sharpen their observation and comprehension skills in a fun, hands-on way. The goal was simple: to show that reading wasn’t just about words on a page—it was an adventure waiting to be explored.

In addition to fostering a love of reading, the event encouraged quality family time and collaboration. Whether children enjoyed mysteries, adventures, or classic tales, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Attendees didn’t want to miss this exciting opportunity to celebrate literacy, curiosity, and community. Organizers looked forward to seeing everyone there for a night of clues, creativity, and captivating stories.
