The entire school community is proud to celebrate an extraordinary accomplishment by Coach Burrows, who has been named the 2026 Connecticut Girls’ High School Track & Field Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

This prestigious honor recognizes outstanding leadership, commitment to student-athletes, and excellence in coaching. The award reflects not only the remarkable success of our girls’ track & field program throughout the season, but also the countless hours Coach Burrows has dedicated to developing athletes both on and off the track.

Under Coach Burrows’ leadership, our student-athletes have excelled through hard work, determination, and a commitment to teamwork. His ability to inspire confidence, build character, and create a culture of excellence has helped shape one of the state’s premier track & field programs.

While championships and records are memorable, Coach Burrows’ greatest impact can be seen in the lives of the young women he coaches. He challenges athletes to strive for their personal best, celebrates their successes, and teaches lessons in perseverance, discipline, and sportsmanship that extend far beyond competition.

This recognition is a testament to an exceptional season and a coaching philosophy centered on excellence, integrity, and dedication.
