Class Act Council

On October 7, the Bloomfield High School (BHS) Class Act Council — led by student-athlete leaders and facilitated by Athletic Director Allison Borawski — proudly accepted the 2025 CIAC Fred Balsamo Award for Sportsmanship at the annual CIAC Sportsmanship Summit.

This distinguished award is presented to CIAC athletic programs that demonstrate innovative efforts to promote sportsmanship, leadership, and ethical behavior across their schools and athletic communities. It reflects the BHS Athletic Department’s ongoing commitment to fostering academic-based, character-driven athletics.

In addition, the BHS Athletic Department has been named a 2024–2025 CIAC “Michaels Jewelers Achievement Cup” Exemplary Program Award recipient—the highest statewide honor a Connecticut high school can earn. This recognition celebrates Bloomfield’s long-standing tradition of excellence, equity, and opportunity for all student-athletes. This marks Bloomfield High School’s eighth Michaels Cup and fourth consecutive CIAC Sportsmanship Award.

We are extremely proud of the work being done within our athletic department and extend our gratitude to all coaches and athletes for their dedication to excellence.
