Celebrating 25 Inspiring Latinos Who Have Shaped the United States: Nuestra América
BHS' UConn Spanish and Honors Spanish IV students stepped up and made an incredible impact as they brought 25 Latino trailblazers to life during our very first Hispanic Heritage Living Museum, Nuestra América!
Attendees explored the gallery and encountered students standing motionless as "living statues," surrounded by custom visual displays, authentic costumes, and signature props. With the ring of a bell, guests brought each historical figure to life—prompting students to step seamlessly into character and deliver a 30-to-60-second monologue sharing their figure's heritage, key achievements, and lasting cultural legacy before returning to their frozen pose.
It was deeply inspiring to see our students step into history with such pride, respect, and enthusiasm!
