We are excited to share that our Student Jump Rope Club will be starting Monday, March 23rd in the gym!
As many of you may remember, we had a fantastic turnout last year. The club will run from 8:35am until the morning bell, giving students a great opportunity to socialize, stay active, and practice their jump roping skills before the school day begins.
All routines and procedures will be clearly established before the club begins, and expectations will be reinforced with students. Our first and second graders are already familiar with safety guidelines and responsible behavior during this time.
Our PE teacher Mrs. Harmon will be in the gym each morning while also unloading buses and monitoring students. The total time for Jump Rope Club is approximately 12-13 minutes each morning.
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, late buses/car riders are beyond our control. We understand students may feel disappointed, but rest assured, we will be jumping in PE classes all month into April 😉
Quick reminders:
Students must wear appropriate shoes to participate.
If a student exhibits unsafe or inappropriate behavior,
they will be asked to leave the Jump Rope Club for the morning.
We'll also be running our Jump Rope Challenge through April 10:
Kindergarten: 10 consecutive jumps
1st Grade: 25 consecutive jumps
2nd Grade: 50 consecutive jumps
This challenge is optional, but it's a fun way to encourage extra practice and engagement in the mornings!
Fun Facts:
Just a few minutes of morning exercise can help improve focus, mood, and readiness to learn
Socializing and playing with peers before class helps build confidence, friendships, and a positive start to the school day.
Thanks so much for your support in helping make this a fun and successful experience!
