During the week of January 26–30, Metacomet students proudly participated in The Great Kindness Challenge, a global initiative promoting kindness, compassion, and inclusion. Students completed acts of kindness, showed school spirit through themed days, and worked together to spread positivity throughout the school.
From helping classmates to offering compliments, these small acts made a big impact—strengthening connections and fostering a caring, respectful school community. We are so proud of our students for showing that kindness truly matters!

Meet Wynn the Warhawk! Bloomfield High School is excited to unveil their newly updated Warhawk mascot! With a refreshed look, brighter colors, and improved mobility, the Warhawk is ready to bring even more energy to games, pep rallies, and school celebrations.
As part of the update, BHS held a “Name the New Warhawk” contest open to students and staff. The winning name - Wynn - was submitted by math teacher Ms. Dubois.

Ski Club at Global Experience Magnet School!
Our students recently kicked off Ski Club at Ski Sundown! They began on Friday, January 9th and will be hitting the slopes every week through the beginning of February.
Beyond learning a new skill, students are building confidence and trying something new. As one student shared, “Skiing has helped me step out of my comfort zone.” We are re so proud of our students for embracing new experiences and challenging themselves!

The Edward A. Bouchet Scholarship, founded in 1987, is named in honor of the first student of African American Heritage conferred a PhD in physics in the U.S. The Boulé, the New Haven-based chapter of Sigma Pi Phi, a fraternity of professional leaders that embraces African American culture established The Promising Scholars Fund in 2007. The mission of the organization is to support promising Connecticut college-bound students who embody African American heritage and who have faced barriers to social, economic and educational resources. The Bouchet Scholarship has helped students attain higher education and find their career passion. Harris Agriscience and Technology Center will be hosting its Annual Holiday Bazaar and Open House on Monday, November 24th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. This festive event, just in time for the Holiday Season will offer fun and cheer for all. Mr. White joined a group of Connecticut school administrators, Harvard professors, and former U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona to discuss real-world challenges and innovations in education.

Bloomfield High School proudly celebrated four outstanding student-athletes during its annual Student-Athlete Signing Day Ceremony on November 12, 2025. Students, families, faculty, and staff gathered to honor these seniors as they officially signed their commitments to continue their athletic and academic careers at the Division I collegiate level.
Congratulations to our Division I signees: D’Asia Duncan – Track & Field, Texas A&M University; Vanessa Agyemang – Track & Field, West Virginia University; Janiyah Barclay – Track & Field, Morgan State University; and Payton Sirdine – Volleyball, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Payton also made school history as Bloomfield’s first-ever Division I volleyball signee! Congratulations to all on this incredible accomplishment and the exciting journey ahead!
