State Treasurer, Erick Russell, Real Estate Investor, Rich Brown and Author and Rn, Alres Dinnall facilitated knowledgeable discussions around financial opportunities and the importance of self-expression through journaling for our Bloomfield students and parents. Today, Bloomfield Public Schools and Connecticut Children's Medical Center hosted a panel on healthcare business and finance careers. Panelists shared insights on roles in education, supply chain, research funding, and research, inspiring students to explore these fields.

Bloomfield Public Schools joins Middletown Public Schools in expressing our condolences on the unexpected passing of Dr. Stacey McCann earlier this week. Dr. McCann served Bloomfield Public Schools from 2012 to 2022 in a number of key leadership roles, including Chief Academic Officer, Director of School Improvement, and Director of Literacy at Bloomfield High School. She was a passionate and dedicated leader who worked tirelessly on behalf of Bloomfield’s students, staff and families. In the fall of 2022, Dr. McCann transitioned to the role of Assistant Superintendent for Middletown Public Schools.
The district extends its heartfelt sympathies to Dr. McCann’s family, friends and colleagues.

Congratulations to BHS Junior, Raheem Barclay on being accepted into the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America (LEDA) program at Princeton and Yale University this summer! The LEDA program is a free, five week residential program, which brings together student leaders for academic preparation, leadership training, college guidance, and standardized test preparation. Students will spend the first four weeks at Princeton University and the final week at Yale University. Congratulations Again, Raheem Barclay!

Morgan was honored for the visual arts and Chance was honored for the performing arts. CAS annually honors two outstanding seniors from each of the member schools in the state who excel in the performing or visual arts. Congratulations Again, Morgan and Chance!

Congratulations to BHS Girl's Track and Field Coach Anne Burrows, who last night accepted the Coach of the Year Award during the 25th Annual Connecticut Indoor Track & Field All-State Banquet, sponsored by the Connecticut Coaches Association.
Her team won the State Open, their 4th such title, completing a perfect season by also winning the Conference Championship and being named Class S Champions (for the 15th year in a row)! A State Open victory means her team was the best girls track team in the state regardless of size.

Our Board of Education meeting tonight is a full house as we prepare to hear from students at Carmen Arace Intermediate School, Carmen Arace Middle School, and Global Experience Magnet School.
Congratulations to all of our students who were honored at the Quarter 2 Honor Roll Ceremony on Tuesday! These students have worked hard in the classroom and received a 3.0 or higher GPA. Almost 200 students were honored for their academic success at the ceremony.
Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball Co-Op Team on their 38-28 victory over Plainville High School on Tuesday! The girls will take on Windham tonight at Windham High School in the Quarterfinals of the Class 'M' State Tournament. Tickets are available on Go Fan. Go Warhawks!
