Our students recently kicked off Ski Club at Ski Sundown! They began on Friday, January 9th and will be hitting the slopes every week through the beginning of February.
Beyond learning a new skill, students are building confidence and trying something new. As one student shared, “Skiing has helped me step out of my comfort zone.” We are re so proud of our students for embracing new experiences and challenging themselves!

On December 15, our Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School community came together to celebrate our annual Kindness Day—a tradition since 2015. We are so proud of our students for helping create a caring, welcoming, and peaceful school community!

Career Day at Laurel Literacy Academy!
Friday, November 7th was an inspiring day filled with big dreams and bright futures! Students paraded through the halls dressed as their future selves—doctors, artists, police officers, paleontologists, and more!
They met community helpers including mail carriers (with a real mail truck!), police, firefighters, and public works staff. A special thank you to Superintendent Dr. Youngberg and Mayor Harrington for joining us to inspire our students.

Students and staff at the Global Experience Magnet School (GEMS) have launched a clothing and food drive to support communities in Jamaica impacted by the recent hurricane. Bloomfield High School has joined the effort, extending the spirit of generosity across our district. All donations collected will be delivered to the West Indian Club of Hartford, which is coordinating relief for families in need.
Thank you to our students, staff, and families for showing compassion and unity in action. Every contribution helps bring hope and comfort to those affected.
