Mark your calendar: Sunday, September 10, at Rockwell Park Field, Rockwell Avenue in Bloomfield, the Save Our Schools for Our Kids Foundation is sponsoring its annual Back-to-School event, from noon to 4 p.m. The goal of the event is to inspire, encourage and create a positive environment for all children, including those dealing with special learning challenges. Backpacks and school supplies will be available.

Reminder to all BHS parents and students, the add/drop period at BHS ends next Wednesday, September 6th. No schedule changes will be made once the add/drop period closes. Students should see their school counselor to make any necessary changes.

Students earned this academic honor because of their GPA of 3.5 or higher and outstanding performance on the PSAT 10. Teachers are ready and excited about today's first day of school! ... More images from Tuesday's powerful all-day Professional Development Day, which guided about 500 certified and non-certified teachers on what they need to do to be successful in the 2023-24 year. Approximately 75 workshops were conducted.



Bloomfield High School was abuzz Tuesday - a day before the first day of school -
as about 500 certified and non-certified teachers participated in 75 professional-development sessions.
The WINS Day - What I Need to Succeed - topics included team building, understanding emotional trauma, connecting with families, proactive and collaborative problem-solving, teaching multilingual learners and leveraging technology to improve student performance.
Our teachers are ready for the 2023-24 school year!

Monday's district convocation was the last one for both Superintendent Dr James Thompson and Bloomfield Board of Education Chairman Donald Harris. Both have served the district with distinction and are retiring this year after 12 years of service.
