Schools are conducting Parent Teacher Conferences on December 6-8. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to meet with their children’s teachers so they can play a role in their child’s academic and social development. There will be Early Dismissal on those days at 12:15 p.m.
State Title up for Grabs: BHS football team plays for the CIAC Class S state championship this Saturday, Dec. 9, 10:30 a.m., vs. Cromwell/Portland at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Tickets can be purchased Online ONLY at gofan.com.
This is the third consecutive year that BHS has advanced to the state finals. Team has won one state title in past five years.

Another successful Food Drive for the district. Buses at all seven schools were stuffed with non-perishable food items and delivered to the Bloomfield Food Bank yesterday. Thanks to all for your generous spirit. Happy Thanksgiving!
The district’s Thanksgiving recess runs from Wednesday, Nov.22 to Friday, Nov. 24. Schools and central office will be closed.
Picture Day Reminder: Metacomet's Picture Day is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, November 21st. Students are not required to wear a uniform if pictures are being ordered. Have a great day!
Bloomfield High School's FFA Leadership Team and Harris Agriscience Center Director Jaunice Edwards-Hassan traveled to Indianapolis recently for the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo. Friendly Reminder: District's holiday Stuff the Bus Food Drive, to support Bloomfield Food Bank, ends today. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off at any of our schools this morning. Buses will be located at each school site. At noon, the final collection site will be the town's community center, 330 Park Ave.
Eight Carmen Arace Middle School students are experiencing the fields of science and laboratory medicine through a novel 10-week after-school partnership with the Center for DNA-Guided Medicine in Hartford.
The Center’s Director of Educational Programs Dr. Mohan Kocheria, and colleagues, have been overseeing the session. The goal of CAMS Youth Academy after-program’s goal is to expose students to careers in science, laboratory medicine and research. The sessions engage students with a hybrid approach to learning, combining classroom instruction and laboratory-activity.
This year’s weekly sessions end in mid-December and will start again in January of 2024.

Shhh... the November Student of the Month Breakfast is quickly approaching! Each classroom teacher will select a Student of the Month! Students who are selected will have an opportunity to attend a surprise breakfast and parents will be formally invited to attend our S.O.M. Breakfast. Parents must keep this a secret as it will be a surprise to their child! They will hear their names announced over the loudspeaker. What qualifies a student to be selected? Students should have great attendance, show significant improvement in behavior and self-control, display compassion, and trustworthiness, and demonstrate responsibility. Please encourage your children to come in ready and excited to learn and perform their best!
