We are currently monitoring increased cases of stomach illness within our school community. This letter is to provide you with information about the virus and our efforts to mitigate the spread here at school. The West Hartford/Bloomfield Health District has been notified. The district will be following their recommendations to heighten our cleaning and sanitization efforts over the next 10 days to include all contact surface areas and ensure bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day.
Ill individuals have been instructed to remain home until symptoms have resolved for 48 hours. We remind parents to be diligent and monitor your children for:
● Stomach pain
● Vomiting
● Nausea
● Cramping
● Diarrhea
Should your child present with these symptoms, please keep your child home until they are symptom free for 48 hours. We ask that you report all illness to the school nurse and contact your child’s pediatrician for guidance.
In order to prevent the spread of virus encourage your child to:
● Wash their hands frequently, but especially after using the restroom and before preparing or consuming food.
● Avoid touching eyes, mouth, and nose.
The West Hartford/Bloomfield Health District and our school nurse will continue to monitor any signs of illness in our community and provide guidance. We will continue to keep you updated, as needed.
Sincerely,
Mr. Paul Guzzo
Principal
