Notice all Bloomfield families: The Back-to-School event – 2023 Extravaganza Day- postponed a few weeks ago has been rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 8, from noon to 4 p.m., at the Rockwell Green, located on Rockwell Drive. Book bags and supplies will be available for free. There will also be games, entertainment food and ice cream.


This Friday, BHS will be halfway through the 1st Quarter. Progress Reports will be available on the PowerSchool Parent Portal beginning Monday, October 2nd. If you don't already have the PowerSchool app or the ability to login on your computer, please contact the main office at BHS for your account information.

All BHS students will be testing on October 11th. Seniors will be taking the SAT, Juniors and Sophomores will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT and Freshmen will be taking the PSAT 8/9. All students will need to have their charged school laptop to test.

Congratulations to BHS' Varsity Football team on their comeback win over Masuk, 50-43 on Friday night! The Warhawks were led by twins, Davien and Davion Kerr and Quarterback Darrien Foster. Darrien threw for 4 touchdowns, Davien scored 4 touchdowns and Davion scored 2 touchdowns. Davien was named Player of the Game. Big shoutout to the Warhawk Cheerleaders for all of their support and keeping the crowd going!

Congratulations to BHS' Boys Varsity Soccer Team for their 7-0 victory over Weaver last Friday! Goals for the Warhawks were scored by: Jahmeen Harrigan (2), Menelek Atuguba (3), Dejuan Drummond (1), and Kenai French (1). This was the second shutout of the season for goalkeeper, Brenton Tucker Mais.

Here are the head shots of the five Bloomfield High students recognized by the College Board for their academic prowess on standardized tests and in the classroom. The Board's National Recognition Program identifies high-achieving sophomores and juniors from underserved communities across the country. It is an accomplishment viewed favorably by colleges and universities when receiving college applications. In addition to highlighting that a student has done well on standardized testing, the Board’s recognition also indicates the student carries a grade-point average of at-least 3.5 at their school. On Tuesday, September 26th, BHS will host its Fall Club Rush during all three lunch waves! Students can check out all the clubs that BHS has to offer in both the Cafeteria and Library Media Center. We encourage all of our students to get involved and join a club(s).


Welcome Kimberly Dunbar - the newest member of the Bloomfield Board of Education. She replaces Joseph Wilkerson, Jr, who moved out of town. Ms. Dunbar is an Associate Retirement Benefits Officer for the Office of The State Comptroller. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Eastern Connecticut State University. She and her husband have lived in town for more than 15 years and have two school-aged children.
