
Last Thursday, BHS' AgriScience Program participated in the Connecticut FFA AgriScience Fair. There were approximately 70 participants from AgriScience programs across Connecticut, BHS had 16 participants. Congratulations to all of our students who were very successful in the science fair:

This past weekend our UCONN ECE Advanced Floral Class participated as designers in the Wadsworth Atheneum Flowers & Art Show in Hartford. Each student was given an artwork to interpret with flowers. Participants are usually professional floral designers, interior designers, and garden club members. The museum was surprised and impressed to see our students participating as high school students.





Congratulations to Ashah Oliver and Zachary Blackwood, Bloomfield High School 2024 CAS-CIAC Scholar Athletes. Ashah and Zachary were honored last night at a ceremony at the Aqua Turf.

Please help support our Girls Softball Team in their community service project: Dog Start Rescue Donation Drive. The softball team is helping to collect donations such as: Iams Dog Food, Bite Sized Training Treats, No Pull Walkie Leashes, No Pull Freedom Harnesses and Large Metal Foldable Crates.


Last Saturday, the Multicultural Club participated in the community's Clean Bloomfield Day in honor of Earth Day. The members, along with Bloomfield's Mayor Wong and Acting Superintendent Dr. Silver, picked up 12+ large bags of garbage and debris around Bloomfield High's surrounding areas. Thank you to all who participated!


Congratulations to BHS' Girls Track Team for winning the small schools section of O'Grady Relays this past Saturday. The girls edged out Sheehan for the small school title, 77-75. The girls will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Middletown Invitational.


Congratulations to BHS' Softball Co-Op with Aerospace who defeated HMTCA last Friday, 19-1. The girls will take on Bulkeley High School today at Colt Park at 4:00 p.m.


Congratulations to BHS' Girls 4x4 Relay Team on their new state leading team of 3:51.85 which they ran at Penn Relays this past Thursday. This time is the third fastest time in Connecticut history and just under a second away from BHS' school record of 3:50.88. Go Warhawks!


Congratulations to BHS' Flag Football Team on their win over Enfield High School yesterday. Come check out our Lady Warhawks as they take on Northwest Catholic this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at BHS under the lights! Go Warhawks!


Last week students in Mrs. Skarzynski's UCONN Allied Health Class had the opportunity to see an ultrasound of a classmate's eye. The ultrasound allowed students to identify parts of the eye while using medical equipment and terminology. This is one of the many classes at BHS that allow students to earn college credit while simultaneously earning credit toward their high school transcript.

Congratulations to BHS Sophomore D'Asia Duncan who won the heptathlon at The New York Relays last weekend. D'Asia scored 4,449 points to set a new meet record, high school stadium record, and a new Bloomfield High School record! Congratulations, D'Asia!

The English Department is excited to announce their annual Poetry Contest for the month of April, which is National Poetry Month! This is a great opportunity for BHS' students to showcase their creative writing styles! All submissions are due by April 29th and winners will be announced on May 4th. On Wednesday, April 17th, BHS inducted 15 new members into the National Honor Society. In a ceremony honoring the hard work and dedication of these students to their academics, NHS advisor, Ms. Dhana Tulloch-Reid shared how these students exemplify the 4 Pillars of the National Honor Society: Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. Congratulations, to our 15 new members and all of our members of NHS!
